Aesop Soho

41, Lexington Street
Fastened to the stone walls of the Soho space, enamelled steel shelves display Aesop’s range. While use of enamel – a material borne of a highly technical and sophisticated process – is an Aesop first, it was extoled by the pharaohs of Egypt, kings of Persia and Chinese imperial dynasties for its aesthetic qualities and longevity; an historical testimonial we felt compelled to heed. The space Soho occupies today was transformed from farmland to serve as a royal park at the command of Henry VIII. Its regal stature did not extend to the twentieth century, however, when Soho was best known by its debaucherous red lights.
